Honoring their Legacy: Shirley Verrett, Marian Anderson, & Grace Bumbry
This performance project will consist of a multi-media presentation of the historic duet recital presented by renowned African American operatic sopranos Shirly Verrett and Grace Bumbry in honor of Marian Anderson’s 80th Birthday. Anderson, a renowned mezzo soprano, was the first African American to perform in a principal role at the Metropolitan Opera.
