Beauty in the Cosmos: Astronomy Inspired Art

Beauty in the cosmos: Astronomy inspired art exhibition will be held in Maxwell Hall April 3-5 with an opening reception on April 3rd, 4:30-7:00pm. The exhibit will be open 2-5pm on April 4th and 5th. This event is open to the campus and community and is an exhibition of a collection of visual, musical, and written artistic pieces by UA undergraduate students about and inspired by astronomy and astrophysics.

Doug Baulos is a professor of Drawing and Foundations at The University of Alabama at Birmingham whose work explores the history of objects and is centered on ideas of spirituality, love, death, shelter, reclamation, and hope. Their drawings, installations, photographs, and books depict scientific illustrations, the human body, and images of the natural world. Doug's visit is part of a new initiative in the printmaking area called Druid City Prints, which is supported through the Collaborative Arts Research Initiative.
