Dancing Digital
Rebecca Salzer, Associate Professor of Dance and CARI’s Director, leads the NEH-funded Dancing Digital Project which works to create and facilitate more accessible, equitable, sustainable, and forward-thinking dance resources online. After a 2-year planning phase that included a symposium for nineteen dance artists, educators, scholars, archivists, and legal and systems design specialists, the project is now in its second phase; working to create a prototype online dance archive. Gesel Mason, artist, scholar, and Associate Professor of Dance at the University of Texas at Austin has joined the project as Co-Director, and her curated collection, No Boundaries: Dancing the Visions of Contemporary Black Choreographers is serving as the test case for the prototype.
