Congratulations to Catherine Roach, CARI Faculty Fellow and UA professor of Gender and Cultural Studies in New College, on being awarded a visiting research fellowship at The University of Edinburgh in Scotland! There, she will further her research on her project “The Greek Slave Speaks: Decolonial and Feminist Perspectives on a Lost Piece of Scottish Art History”. This project focuses on Edinburgh-area ties to a famous 19th-century American statue, The Greek Slave. She will be working in conjunction with the University of Edinburgh to learn more about the racial and sexual justice movements of the US and UK.
