The University of Alabama’s Collaborative Arts Research Initiative has announced its 10 inaugural faculty fellows and several new initiatives to engage faculty across campus.
The 2019-21 faculty fellows, chosen from a large and competitive applicant pool, are:
- Robin Behn, English, College of Arts and Sciences
- Julia Brock, history, College of Arts and Sciences
- Julia Cartwright, geological sciences, College of Arts and Sciences
- Hilary Green, gender and race studies, College of Arts and Sciences
- Jamey Grimes, art and art history, College of Arts and Sciences
- Luvada Harrison, theatre and dance, College of Arts and Sciences
- Conor Henderson, physics and astronomy, College of Arts and Sciences
- Holland Hopson, New College, College of Arts and Sciences
- Aibek Musaev, computer science, College of Engineering
- Catherine Roach, New College, College of Arts and Sciences
Faculty from all colleges and departments can also get involved with CARI through two new initiatives: CARI Community and CoffeeLabs. To join the CARI Community, faculty can fill out this form.
CARI’s CoffeeLabs will serve as open-house style events for UA faculty and staff interested in interdisciplinary collaborative arts research. At these events, faculty and staff will have the opportunity to learn more about the CARI initiative, meet and network with CARI faculty fellows, and discuss research ideas with faculty in other disciplines.
All faculty are welcome and encouraged to take part in CoffeeLabs in Maxwell Hall from 9 to 10 a.m. on Sept. 20, Oct. 18 and Nov. 15.
