This event showcases a collaborative project recreating the 1910 speech given by Booker T. Washington in Tuscaloosa at the invitation of a former enslaved campus-laborer turned educator. The event will feature a short film of excerpts from the speech, and two music selections originally performed and a conversation with the project collaborators.
